ONDA Gourmets Journey


Our lodge is the Franciscan Convent built in 1611 on the top of a charming small village in the green hills above the enchanting fishers village Acciaroli where Ernest Hemingway lived for several months going to fish with 'his' old man in the splendid sea of the Acciaroli bay. with its long and perfectly clean sand beaches and the splendid crystalline water.

The building is set on a rock with absolutely panoramic view above the Cilento coast including the famous Cape of Palinuro. We enjoy the large convent´s ground with beautiful well kept gardens and the small peaceful wood inside the convent's walls on walkways around and behind the main building. All the guest- rooms are located in the cloisters on the first floor most of which overlook the beautiful gardens and the seaside. (All rooms with own bathroom).
With classical mediterranean charme the small own restaurant offers characteristic menus of Cilentane cuisine served under the terrace pergola with its suggestive view.
10 Minuten of walk into the pittoresk tiny village below, 10 minutes of car to one of the most beautiful bays of the Cilento coast with its 3 kms of natural sand and the enchanting fisher-village Acciaroli.Slow Food honoured the village with the title of Cilento's village with the most elevated life-style quality.

7 days accommodation in double-bed or single room with own bath in the modernized Franciscan Convent

7 days halfboard in the convent`s restaurant (see discription above), breakfast and dinner Terra e mare. Italian Menu including 4 courses and 1/4l of cilentine wine. Ingredients used are mainly from own organic production, such as own olive oil, own wine, own vegetables, own fruits. All further used products are daily fresh, arriving directly from the National Park, such as for example fresh fish from Acciaroli or the finest buffalo mozzarella from Paestum.Don`t forget that SlowFood has several Sites around.
